The benefits of physiotherapy and rehabilitation are well known to anybody who has suffered an accident, injury or operation and equally to those unlucky enough to suffer from arthritis or back pain. Although veterinary physiotherapy and rehabilitation is still in its infancy the advantages of these treatments for our veterinary patients are just as obvious and clear-cut as they are in humans. The Animal Physiotherapy and Rehab Centre at Croft Veterinary Hospital is led by Helen Swales (MSc VetPhysio) who is dual qualified in both human and veterinary physiotherapy and a Category A member of ACPAT. Through her diverse qualifications and years spent treating both human and veterinary patients, Helen brings a wealth of experience and expertise to bear. The facilities of the Animal Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre are impressive and include a full-size canine hydrotherapy pool and a custom-built water treadmill alongside a wide range of apparatus and equipment that Helen and her colleagues expertly use to speed recovery and restore convalescing pets to full, pain-free activity.
